Aluminum Entry-Door Finishes
Finish selection affects more than color: sheen, texture, panel joints, surrounding materials and changing daylight all influence the final appearance. Samples should be reviewed in the project context before approval.
Color changes with light and scale
Small samples can appear different on a tall door. Compare them vertically, in sun and shade, and beside facade stone, stucco, metal or wood.
Wood look without pretending to be solid wood
Wood-look aluminum provides a grain direction and warm visual character while retaining an aluminum substrate. Pattern repeat, panel alignment and edge treatment should be reviewed on a larger sample.
Document the approved reference
Record the supplier color reference, sheen, texture, inside and outside selections, grain direction and any acceptable variation before production release.
Frequently asked questions
Can the inside and outside have different finishes?
It may be possible for selected constructions. The transition at edges, frame faces and open-door views must be reviewed before confirmation.
Will a digital screen match the finished color?
No. Screens and photographs are useful for direction only. Approval should use an identified physical sample under relevant lighting.
